I don’t play online slots often, but Alley Cats Video Slot really caught my eye. Its’ delightfully frivolous restyling of traditional slots appealed to my sense of humor. Who wouldn’t want to play a game of bowling with empty tins of cat food being hurled at less than amused puppies?

Using your nine lives throughout this feline game, you get to stretch and claw your way to the top. The five reel slot also has nine pay lines (it must be a cat thing). I was kept amused after every spin admiring the animation of the cheeky felines (not a cherry in site here), waiting for them to line up.

The feline slots are played with 20 - 180 coins and have a 20 free spins feature. You can be the top cat if you succeed at risking all nine lives for the maximum payout across all nine lines. Is it time you got the cream?

Government has been warned by leading bookies in the UK that any attempted increase in taxes or regulation at the Budget will lead to job losses and betting shop closures, as well as further undermine their ability to compete with offshore rivals

Bookies emphasised that the industry directly employed 40,000 people and supported a further 60,000 jobs in racing and other industries that are dependent on betting.

Any regressive move from the Government, the bookies said, could force them to relocate parts of their business offshore. These warnings were given at meetings with Gerry Sutcliffe, Minister for Sport and Angela Eagle, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury.

Last week, the bookmakers told Mr Sutcliffe what was at risk from any such actions, amid fears that the government could raise gross profits tax from 15pc to 17pc, as well as introduce stringent regulations on fixed-odds betting terminals.

Everyone is familiar with sports betting, even if they don’t think so. After all, if you and some pals make a friendly wager about the winner of a game you’re following, or if you contribute a dollar to the office pool and speculate on the final score of your team’s championship game, that’s as much of a sports bet as if you had contacted a bookie in Las Vegas. But there’s an undoubted difference between a casual bet just to participate with your coworkers and placing a bet on sports through an official betting agency or internet sportsbook organization.

The very first human that saw horses racing across the plain probably decided which one would get there first and made a mental bet on it. Horse racing is an ancient sport and can be traced to Central Asia in 4500 BC with those that first started to ride and domesticate the wild horses in the area. Kings and upper class were the first to race their own horses and make wagers on who would win. The first Olympics in Greece had several horse racing events from mounted horses to chariot races. This was the very beginning of the history of horse racing.

Modern horse racing began after the crusades when the 12th century knights brought Arabian horses back to England with them. Arabians were larger and swifter than the English horse. They returned with stallions that were bred with the English Horse. This made the offspring very strong and able to endure long and hard riding with speed and grace.
